Creating Memories

When I was told that I would be promoted to Grandma status, the first thing I thought (after my excitement came back to a level where I could think again), was that I could channel my creativity towards handmade gifts every grandma/pa can make for their loved ones. What a lovely talking point it is when our grandchildren look back at photos from their childhood, clothed in items we made for them.

Every time I am looking at old photos of my kids from when they were little, wearing things I made for them, I feel proud and get a warm and fuzzy feeling in my stomach. I get the same feeling when I look at photos of myself as a kid, dressed in clothes my own grandmother made for me.  I am reminded of her whenever I see these photos!  Now, having experienced life for a bit, it makes me realise how much love goes into making items for the little special people in our lives and it makes me happy that this love will be with them forever. 

Creating memories by making handmade items for my grandchildren makes me happy and I am sure that every time they will look at their baby photos, they will remember me! From my point of view, you can’t get closer to your grandchildren than that!
