Capturing the family spirit

I am working on a new design for a jumper and wanted to include my mother in this process as she is the great-grandmother of my granddaughter. That’s a head-spin, right?

My mother loves Owls, always has and always will. I remember having lots of little Owl nick-nacks around our home. So, what better way to honour the great-grandmother than to create a jumper with a family of owls as a feature?

It was a bit tricky to create the different sized Owls. I had to change my row and stitch counts a few times along the way, but I got there in the end, and I am very happy with the look so far.

While this jumper represents two adult owls watching over their little offspring, to me it also reminds me of my mother, and I am sure this jumper will protect the wee one.
